Spread the love

Sometimes life has dealt harshly with us and our desire to dream fades. Perhaps we’ve suffered a harsh rejection and letting go of dreams has kept the ache from worsening. One day, we wake up and realize we’ve stopped hoping that good things will come to pass.

Oh, we still believe in God and His might, but we’ve taken to telling ourselves that His will goes the opposite of our desires. Not that it’s a bad thing–that’s not what I’m saying–but we begin to use that as justification not to dream. We may even consider ourselves sensible and faithful by wishing for His will and nothing more.

But we serve a God that can do the impossible. We serve a God who wants to give us an abundant life. Not one of drudgery and without hope.

Friends, we need to dream again. To let that ember that we’ve all but smothered out burn again. To turn our hopes over to the Lord.

“Delight thyself also in the Lord: and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”
– Psalm 37:4 KJV

He delights in us and only wants good for our lives. It’s okay to dream. It’s okay to seek Him for our desires. Yes, He may say no, but that only means He has something so much better in store. It doesn’t mean we should stop dreaming, stop hoping.

“Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,…”
– Ephesians 3:20 KJV

Let’s put down the fear of ‘no’ and pick up the hope of dreaming and believing in a God that can do anything.
