Receive Like A Child

Receive Like A Child

Spread the love

In Luke 18:16-17 we read, “But Jesus called for them, saying, ‘Permit the children to come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all. ‘” Luke‬ ‭18:16-17 (NASB)

Jesus said we are to receive the Kingdom of God like a child. I’ve often thought of what this means. Children are trusting, accepting, don’t usually try to pull everything apart to decipher the hidden meanings but instead accept things for what they seem to be. Children (young children anyway) have short memories, forgiving easily the child who took their toy and offer help when they see a need instead of looking to others to do it.

I think Jesus said we are to receive the Kingdom of God like a child because it’s easier to picture those positive attributes and picture the joy of a child when they experience something fun or new.

We are to have that same level of joy and excitement as we share the best news we’ve ever heard, the good news of Jesus Christ!

Today may you receive and share your joy like a child and  draw others to share in that joy with you.
