Spread the love

When “life” happens, it’s not always a good thing. And considering the times we live in, it seems to be steeped in sin and its consequences.

Shootings. Deaths. Illnesses. Diseases. Natural Disasters.

It’s enough to way us down, to pilfer away all of our hope.

When our world looks the way it does, what is there to hope in?

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”  – Hebrews 11:1 KJV

And isn’t that our problem? We’ve been looking to the world for our hope, instead of the Source of hope. We have to have faith that God is who He says He is. We have to have faith that He has already been victorious in the battle of good vs. evil. We can’t look to the world for the answers because we’re all catching up to God’s timetable.

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed…” 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 KJV

God will not let the enemy when in our lives. Our hope is not an intangible thing that can be manipulated by our desires. It lives in the breathing Savior who came to give us an abundant life. Our hope is that thread that connects us to the great Comforter and reminds us that this world is temporary.

“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered” Romans 8:26 KJV.

Even better, the Spirit will intercede on our behalf when life becomes too much for us. He is constantly present and able to bless us with the hope when life seems hopeless.

Whatever you’re going through, whatever you’re facing, hold on to the Spirit. Keep the faith. Remember that:

“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors  through him that loved us.” – Romans 8:37 KJV

What a timely message. I am going for my mammo on Saturday and I am starting to be anxious. There is always the fear that I will hear the dreaded words that the cancer is back. Sometimes it is so easy to forget that we are conquerors through Christ and that our hope and security must rest in him.

Thank you Toni for passing on God’s message for us today.
