Bloom … No Matter What

Bloom … No Matter What

Spread the love

“Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” Philippians 4:11 [KJV]

You’ve all heard it … seen it … BLOOM WHERE YOU’RE PLANTED.

Every time I come across it, the above verse comes too mind. The Apostle Paul, despite everything he experienced. found himself contented. Wherever he was. Whatever he endured. Imprisonment. Shipwrecked, beaten. Amazing. It boggles the mind, doesn’t it?

Not that I’m suggesting any of us compare ourselves to Paul, but many of us have … no doubt … experienced some rough places along the road.

For example, … after a divorce … I found myself leaving NW Wisconsin and moving to the desert southwest where it was warm and dry, and my body thanked me. I found a great job, a new husband, happiness and contentment. I blossomed … for thirty-three years.

Then my husband suddenly passed away. I was lost without him … discontented. Until I chose to leave the desert and return to Wisconsin where my children and grandchildren live. And I’m blooming again, content right where I am.

What about you? Have you ever been uprooted and planted somewhere else? Do share.
