When Fear Attacks

When Fear Attacks

Spread the love

Recently, I’ve been doing a Bible study from a group on Fear and Anxiety. Let me tell you it has hit home so much. I suffer at times from anxiety and panic attacks. Not as bad as they use to be, but still at times it’s there. Sometimes, it feels like someone has grabbed me by the throat and wants to choke the life out of me. I don’t know if any of you have ever felt that way.

It’s scary. I’m talking like really freak you out. You know what? I’ve learned how to handle this with God’s word. This study came at the right time. Doesn’t God always do that?

Fear and anxiety don’t come from God. But, He can use it for His glory.  It’s kind of the product of the world we live in. It’s part of our lives here. The amazing thing is God gives us help through this in His word. Paul talks about renewing our minds.

Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2

Do we let God’s word renew and transform our lives or do we just go with the flow? I know for me if I’m not in the Word, then my mind is all over the place. That’s when anxiety and fear can sneak its way in.

May we dig into God’s word this week!
