Anticipate and Appreciate the Change in Seasons

“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.” Genesis 8:22 (ESV)

Spring and fall are my favorite seasons of the year. The weather seems to be perfect for walking, gardening, and doing things around the house. I’m not sweltering in the hot sun or needing to neither cool off under the air conditioner nor bundled up with hats, scarf’s, mittens, wool coats and boots (I live in the Midwest).

I complain every year when winter comes and tell myself that I’m relocating to a warmer climate; but I’ve been here 47 years and still in the same place as we progress into another winter.  God created the earth to operate a certain way and rain, snow, sleet, and hail must come from the sky as ordered and summer, winter, spring and fall will not come to an end as long as the earth remains.

I also appreciate and anticipate the change of seasons in my life – spring, summer, fall and winter – as I move forward through the stages of my earthly existence.
