When You Just Can’t

When You Just Can’t

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.                  –Isaiah 41:10

This season of my life, I’ve felt in over my head. It’s a season where God’s beginning to move and I’m stepping into my calling, but so much is uncertain.

It’s like he’s building a house, but right now it’s just a concrete foundation and a wooden frame. I don’t know how the rest of it will all fit together, how long it will take, or what the finished product will look like.

And I’m terrified. With every step, with every unknown, terrified.

There’s an odd peace though, a beauty in knowing that what’s happening is so special that it’s beyond my control. In my moments of anxiety, I’m reminded that it is God’s promise to help me. To do what I cannot. And because God promised to help me, it is his responsibility.

Did you catch that? It is God’s responsibility to help you.

What are you afraid of right now? What’s before you that you don’t think you can handle?

I want to tell you that it is okay to not be able to handle things. Although you may feel helpless, God is not, and he promises to uphold us.

He will not lie or change his mind. He is faithful to do it. So go ahead and take the pressure off of yourself and put it on God.
