Spread the love

The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.”   ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭19:1‬ ‭NASB‬‬

I’ve always felt a strong connection to God through nature. I feel close to God when I’m viewing His creation whether blue skies, a starry night, the rolling waves of an ocean or birds soaring through the air. I look upon all of these things with majesty and awe.

My husband and I have now been in our new home in coastal Georgia for a month and every day I marvel at the beauty surrounding us. The combination of the many and large Spanish moss trees, the palm trees and lush green bushes as well as the variety of coastal birds and other animals have spoken to my soul.

One of my first prayers after arriving here was that God would help me to always see the beauty through the same fresh eyes that I see it now. There are so many different birds that not only fly overhead but also walk along the lagoon’s edge in our backyard. They’re unique and different than the ones we’re used to seeing in Wisconsin. I liked those too but the variety here has mesmerized me.

It got me thinking how God sees our beauty fresh each day, how the creation we see is so limited compared to what exists in the heavens and the magnitude of what we will see when we are united with God for eternity brings me joy and hope.

Today I encourage you to take a pause out of your fast-paced day, go outside, take a deep breath of fresh air in and notice the beauty of God’s creation that He has given us to enjoy each and every day! Know that He sees you with the same wonder and joy.
