How Do I Pray in Agreement With God’s Will?

One way of guaranteeing your prayers will be answered is to pray in agreement with God’s will!

  • Many times, we have already DECIDED how we want the prayer to be answered.
  • We have already determined OUR will in the matter and try to get God to co-sign our prayers.
  • Or we ASSUME what God wants and expect Him to do what we assume.
  • I admit it is not always easy to find God’s will in a matter – Pray as hard as we can – we are not always sure if it is really God’s will or if it’s our will.
  • This is when we need the ‘PASSION’ in prayer.

The PASSION in prayer is that intimacy with God where we know Him so well we know what He is thinking.

  1. This comes from studying and meditating on His word.
  2. We get to know God’s principles established in His word.
  3. We begin to recognize Elohim’s character from studying His word.
  4. We learn to identify what Adonai likes and dislikes.
  5. We start to discern what pleases and displeases Yahweh.
  6. We become acquainted with El Shaddai personally and not only know ‘about’ HIM!
  7. When we are intimate with Jehovah we learn to patiently “WAIT.”
  8. We learn that God’s timeframe is different from ours.

Remember the persistent Widow in Luke 18:1-8 – she didn’t give up until the King gave in to her request.

So we also must keep thanking God for the answer if we know we are praying His Word.

We have to believe that we will receive the answer to our prayers AS SOON AS POSSIBLE from God but be reminded that:

Sometimes God has to get us ready for the answer.

Occasionally He has to get situations ‘in order’ for us to receive the answer.

At times He has to make sure we are in position to receive the blessing.

“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.” Ephesians 6:18 (NKJV)

I’ll chat about seven things that can keep your prayers from being answered next month, August 21, 2017.
