Brain Dead

“Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. – Matthew 11:28 (HCSB)

I’ve been running weary lately. Getting up early to try and get a lot accomplished and often staying up until late night. The hours I’ve been keeping are beginning to take its toll. And no, I don’t have a newborn keeping me awake. 🙂

I have a big project consuming my time and it’s taking a lot out of me. I’m utilizing lots of brain cells and I’m finding that it taxes my strength, making me feel weary after a day of heavy thinking and figuring.

It doesn’t help that several other projects are looming as well. I find it quite easy to get overwhelmed and wonder if I’ll be able to complete everything in time.

During those times of struggle, I have to force myself to take things one day at a time. To pray and ask for daily strength when I feel weary. To ask the Lord to help me order my days. I know that He can provide in ways I can’t imagine. His Word promises the following:

He lets me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters. He renews my life;
He leads me along the right paths
for His name’s sake.
Psalm 23:2-3 (HCSB)

I don’t know about you, but just reading those verses puts my heart at ease. I choose to rest in Him.
