Live Life Intentionally

Live Life Intentionally

Have you ever noticed books, TV shows, and movies have a common quest? The characters are all looking for a way to live life intentionally. No one wants to get to their death bed and feel the weight of regrets. It’s something that hounds us, niggles us in the back of our mind.

As Christians, I think the thought is amplified. We’re terrified we’ll get to Heaven and discover we missed our life’s purpose and are barred from entry. There are countless Bible verses there to point us in the right direction. However, it was a very simple one that I recently read that struck me to my core.

“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” – Matthew 6:9-10 KJV

Friends, our life’s purpose is to do His will on earth as in heaven. In order to live life intentionally, our focus must be on Him and His will. If we want to take it a step further, we can look at the two commandments He left with us.

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” – Matthew 22:37-40 KJV

His will is for us to love Him and our neighbors. That is it. That is all that is required of us.

Love richly, deeply, and faithfully. Love when others would hate. Love when others would keep up appearances. Love when your ‘feelings’ don’t want to. Love when it seems there is nothing else you can do. Love…

“Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.” – 1 Corinthians 13:7 KJV

I pray that you go out today and live life intentionally. Live it His way and you will be a success. But before you go, tell me…

How will you live life intentionally today?
